Future Plans
Currently collaborative trials are being carried out on the food, drink cosmetic and personal products with four international companies and certain areas, such as the use with fish oils, are not currently available for licensing.
The company is however actively seeking new collaborations particularly in the pharmaceutical and food industries and especially in countries where there are approved patents such as Australia, India and the USA.
Pharmaceutical areas where it is anticipated that the technology could be applied with little technical development are:
- Pulmonary treatment, where small monodispersed particles are available for trials.
- Pro and pre-biotics, as co-encapsulants have been tested which give release in the lower gut.
As licenses as taken up it is envisaged that Sporomex™ will have to be split, probably according to the different uses, perhaps resulting in the sale of part of the company.
